The two young new members of the world renown Jens Winther European Quartet are Carl Winther and Daniel Frank - both graduate students at the Danish Rhythmic Conservatory - who are already highly acclaimed for their total mastery of improvisation and all-around musicianship.
Dejan Terzic, total demon on the drums, has been a stalwart with the Jens Winther European Jazz Quintet for eight years and now carries on as the driving rhythmic force leading the QUARTET to new heights in musical surprises and excitements.
The European Quartet is Jens Winther's acoustic jazz ensemble which just completed an eight day tour of Germany to rave reviews and highly enthusiastic receptions in all cities favored by their performances. With this vibrant, fresh, compact and innovative crew, you are bound to be blown away!

Concord
Weltklasse-Jazz eines europäischen Quintetts
Der coole und volle Bebop-Sound, den der dänische Trompeter und Flügelhornist Jens Winther mit seinem European Quintet auf seiner neuen Scheibe "Concord" erreicht, hat Weltklasse. Guten Anteil daran hat sicher auch die vorzügliche Aufnahmetechnik, Abmischung und das Mastering durch Bjarne Hansen, der in den Kopenhagener Sun Studios mit den vornehm und mit musikalischem Genie von Winther komponierten und arrangierten Stücken ein auch tontechnisch hervorragendes Produkt erarbeitet hat.
Winther hat eine erlesene Mannschaft zusammengestellt, der die sieben teils epischen, teils lyrischen Titel wie ein Handschuh passen. Hier wird Jazz zum völligen Ausschalten aller ärgerlichen oder störenden Tageseinflüsse gespielt, Jazz, der den Verdienst hat, auf eine höhere, gelöste Ebene mitzunehmen - ein Meisterstück. Winthers eigenes seelenvolles Spiel auf Trompete und Flügelhorn schmiegt sich z.B. in "August" sensibel an Palle Danielssons feine Bass-Behandlung und Antonio Faraos leicht erscheinendes Klavierspiel, geht in "Supreme Love" mit Tomas Francks Tenorsaxophon und den Drums Dejan Terzics eine Allianz ein oder träumt in "Honesty" einen zärtlichen Traum, einfühlsam von Farao begleitet.
"Concord" hat Wert über den Tag hinaus, ein fabelhaftes Album, temporeich in "Ubatuba" und spannend in "Abstract Colours" das lediglich mit "Peculiar Walk" vielleicht nicht den ganz stimmigen Abschluß findet. Hier hätte ein anderer Ausklang wie z.B. mit "Honesty" oder "Abstract Colours" evtl. harmonischer gewirkt.
